"Since I came to Poland for holiday, time flies so fast. I shouldn’t complain about it, it’s always like this. I should’ve got used to that. Everytime I feel like I have so many things to do. And when I go back to Germany, I’m mad anyway, because I didn’t do everything I wanted to. I have much more time in Dortmund. And now, in Truskolasy, I went outside in the morning and got back in the evening. To be honest, I’m more tired than relaxed. But I’m not complaining. With those, who I’ve known since I was a child and find them valuable, I still keep in touch. I’m glad to have them beside me"
"It’s about what I said after the game against Czech Republic, it’s obvious. I would do it all different today, I’d wait for a couple of days. Emotions took over me back then. My dreams fell apart, the event of my lifetime became a disaster. However, I was talking on behalf of the whole team. I’m the captain and I will do everything to protect the team and take care of them. At least all the negative judgement of EURO 2012 was focused on me. The rest of the team was safe and could handle the failure better"
"I used to collect them [autographs] as a child, however Dawid was more determined to collect them. We had an album where footballers signed in. After the Polish National Team played against Germany in Zabrze, we were lucky to get autographs from Klinsmann, Hässler and Bierhoff. Last week, when the boys from Chorzów came to the ‘Kuba Cup’ in Truskolasy, a tournament that I organise for children every year, just to get my autograph, it reminded me of my child hobby”
“We’ve known each other for over 4 years, and it’s the longest time I’ve worked with the same coach. He has a big influence on the progress I’ve made. Everybody in Borussia has similar feelings for each other. There were a lot of speculations this summer, but only one player left - Shinji Kagawa. Marco Reus joined us, he chose Borussia Dortmund even though he had many other propositions. I guess he did it because of the coach. I started the last season on the bench, but it didn’t discourage me at all. I like to compete, have it my way, to prove that I can manage to make it through the worst situation. I think the coach noticed that. What I like about him is that he aims at victory at any price. He is known for his untypical methods. I’ve heard that when he was the coach of Mainz he walked up to the linesman and whispered to him: ‘If you’re allowed to make 15 mistakes during the game, then I remind you that you’ve got only one left‘”
“One time, Jürgen Klopp took us to a fast-food restaurant. A year ago, we were coming back from our last match in Freiburg. Everybody was in a great mood, we won 4:1. Suddenly, our coach told the driver to turn to McDonald’s. For that one night he let us do that, cause normally he cares about healthy eating a lot. You should’ve seen the faces of the people working there, when a crowd full of hungry Borussia Dortmund players rushed into their restaurant”
